Harley Davidson: Legendary Road Songs

Graybeard aggro is the outlook that permeates this selection of roadworthy numbers for the chopper set. Mixing '70s classic rock with its '80s offspring, blues-rock with its proto-metal kin, Legendary Harley-Davidson Road Songs hugs the corners with the likes of Deep Purple's “Smoke on the Water,” Thin Lizzy's “The Boys Are Back in Town,” and Heart's “Crazy on You.” And though most of the selections aren't explicitly asphalt anthems (BTO's “Roll on Down the Highway” and Poison's “Ride the Wind” are a couple of exceptions), nothing here will prompt you to either slip into the slow lane or stop in your tracks. –Steven Stolder
